A major issue aroused over Apple’s iPhone X is of its freezing in colder weather. Customers report that it takes more than two seconds sometimes to get the screen working on the new iPhones after one has entered the cold zone. Apple has now said that a software update will resolve the issue.
It all started with a Reddit user darus214 who made following commentary regarding the freezing of the iPhone Xscreen. “I’ve noticed that my iPhone X screen becomes very unresponsive as soon as I step outside. It literally takes 2 seconds from going inside to the cold outdoors and my screen stops being very responsive. I try swiping on websites and it doesn’t register my finger. It’s very noticeable. Is anyone else having this problem?”
Other user in the same thread answered that locking and unlocking of the phone may resolve the problem. However it had the issue recognized and other realized the freezing pattern of iPhone X screen.
Then Apple has responded in a statement “We are aware of instances where the iPhone X screen will become temporarily unresponsive to touch after a rapid change to a cold environment. After several seconds the screen will become fully responsive again. This will be addressed in an upcoming software update.”
Apple’s official guidance for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is to use them at between 32º and 95º F, or the device might “change its behavior” or “temporarily shorten battery life.” However, its is not possible people to keep tracking the temperature for obvious reason that when one buys a phone he expect it to work fine in all temperatures that human body can go along with. This is not the only problem appeared with iPhone X though, some reports also came out about the phones having a ‘Green Line of Death’ on their displays, but the number of complains in very low compared to total units sold.
